The Power of the Right Hand

You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great.-psalm 18:35

Every time I read, "God's right hand," I think of Jesus. I mean it says that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father(mark16:19). David wrote so many times that God's right hand sustains him; to me it is just a picture of Jesus! Even Stephen said, he saw the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God(acts7:56). In reading this I'm just so reminded that Jesus is the right hand, Jesus is the right hand that holds you up. Thomas Nelson comments that the"right hand" is a slogan that describes God's powerful deliverance of the Israelites from egypt. And Jesus is that powerful deliverance for us from the world. What a reminder that the the same right hand that saved the Israelites from bondage is saving us from it as well. I encourage you that whenever you read "God's right hand", just remember that is where Jesus is making intercession for you.
